About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN Labor and Delivery experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 2 years required Must-Have: - AWHONN certification - Minimum 2 years of RN Labor and Delivery experience Description: TMC orientation is held twice a month. Candidates without AWHONN certification will not be considered. This position requires floating based on census. Coverage is required every other weekend. The patient ratio in this unit is 1:2. No local candidates will be accepted. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with the Epic charting system is required. Travel experience is required. Skills required include: - Administration of blood and blood products - Amnioinfusion - Antepartum care - Anticoagulation therapy - Antihypertensives - Antiseizure treatment - APGAR scores - Assistance with high-risk delivery - Assistance with sterile speculum exam - Assistance with vaginal delivery - Breastfeeding and lactation support - Cervical cerclage - Cesarean section assistance - Collecting cord samples - Couplet care - D&C - Epidural anesthesia - Fundus, lochia, and perineum care - Labor and delivery - Magnesium sulfate therapy - Newborn assessment - Pain assessment and management - Therapeutic procedures including phototherapy and IV management - Use of External Fetal Monitoring and Internal Fetal Monitoring The unit provides interdisciplinary support and covers a wide range of patient diagnoses including complications related to labor, antepartum, and postpartum situations. This position involves participation in special procedures, including Cesarean sections and D&C. Block scheduling will not be accommodated. Work history including any prior employment within the organization will require rehire status approval. Travelers must have only one DUI on record and it must have occurred more than one year ago. Travelers with multiple DUIs will not be considered for this position.
