The Battle Creek VAMC provides comprehensive tertiary psychiatric care; primary and secondary medical care; and extended and long-term care for Veterans in 22 counties in the western and lower peninsula of Michigan. The primary service area (PSA) has a population of approximately 188,000 Veterans. The Battle Creek VAMC consists of 276 total operating beds, including 55 inpatient mental health beds, 11 inpatient medical beds, 109 Community Living Center beds, and 101 Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) beds. The Battle Creek VAMC is classified as a neuropsychiatric facility and is the hub of mental health care for VA Medical Centers in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Battle Creek VAMC provides state-of-the-art, evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health care. As such, we provide a full range of mental health services, including treatment of a broad range of diagnostic and psychosocial issues through programs including General Outpatient Mental Health (MHC); PTSD Clinical Team (PCT); Substance Use Disorders Clinic (SUD-C); Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) and Wellness and Recovery Center (WRC) for Veterans with Serious Mental Illness (SMI); a Neuropsychology Assessment Clinic; as well as Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs (RRTPs) for Substance Use Disorders, PTSD, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Other duties, as assigned by mutual agreement between the locum tenens and the COR or Contracting Officer.Qualifications/RequirementsMust hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited graduate school of Medicine.Must have successfully completed a residency program in psychiatry which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.Must be board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Association.Must be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held.Must maintain current certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
