Food Service Assistant

Are you eager to make a difference in the health and nutrition of young children? As the Food Service Assistant at Primrose School at Naperville Crossings, you'll help to prepare delicious, nutritious food that helps fuel children as they explore, play and develop a lifelong love of learning. This is a part-time position, hours 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. (More hours available if desired.)

Nurture a child's first five years by:

• Encouraging healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods
• Maintaining a keen awareness of children who have allergies and food restrictions
• Following the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the School Management Team
• Assisting with ordering food and calculating the amount needed

Qualifications:

• Experience in food preparation and kitchen management is a plus, but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Being able to multi-task and prioritize the needs of the kitchen and overall school
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
• Organization is key!
• Willing to learn kitchen tasks and take guidance from Kitchen Manager and School Management Team
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food production
