Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate both mental health and substance use issues, accurately diagnosing co-occurring disorders. \n
- Collaborate with clients to create tailored treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their mental health and substance use needs. \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to teach coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and methods for emotional regulation. \n
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and nurses, to coordinate integrated care and sharing insights on individualized treatment progress. \n
- Employ motivational interviewing strategies to engage clients actively in their recovery process, assisting them in overcoming barriers and encouraging adherence to treatment plans. \n
- Educate clients and families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, reinforcing the importance of ongoing treatment and healthy coping mechanisms. \n
- Maintain precise and timely documentation of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with ethical regulations and best practices. \n
- Contribute to case conferences, team meetings, and professional training sessions to continuously enhance your knowledge in treating co-occurring disorders. \n
Your primary focus will be on individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These clients often experience unique challenges that require a deep understanding of both psychological and addiction issues. By utilizing evidence-based methodologies like Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), your work will significantly contribute to breaking the cycle of addiction and emotional turmoil, leading to sustainable recovery and improved life quality.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current, active licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California. \n
- Solid proficiency in evidence-based therapies supporting treatment for co-occurring disorders. \n
- A strong grasp of the complex interplay between mental health conditions and substance use disorders. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary setting. \n

- Familiarity with electronic health record systems for documentation and care coordination. \n
