Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned clinic, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, assistance with in-clinic procedures, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education.

Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Other duties as assigned. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

Depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the LVN (entry level/new grad) or Sr. LVN level.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Demonstrated LVN experience in direct patient care.
• Two (2) years of LVN experience required to be hired at the Sr. LVN level.
• Proven skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height and weight.
• Experience administering medication including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgement, and work in a team environment.
• Knowledge and training in patient care, environmental care functions, medication/supplies/equipment supply management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pain Clinic and Pain Procedure experience.
• Experience with EPIC/electronic medical record
• Experience in an ambulatory clinic setting and Procedure experience.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,848 - $89,304 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.41 - $42.77

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
