Job Description
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate should be trained in labor and delivery, post-partum care, c-section circulation, and special care nursery.

Position Overview

This position will include a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will work with both neonates and adults in a maternity unit, providing essential care as part of a dedicated healthcare team.

• Shift: Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 3x12's) - Self Scheduling
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Required Certifications: NRP (REQUIRED), BLS (REQUIRED), ACLS & AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)
• Years of Experience: 2+
• Float Requirements: No

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 (unit census can range from 3-24 patients)
• Equipment: EFM, IV
• EHR: EPIC, Powerchart/Omnicell Med System

Key Responsibilities

• Triage obstetrical patients and utilize external fetal heart monitoring (EFM).
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs.
• Administer antihypertensives and insulin drips.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and recover patients post-c-section.
• Conduct APGAR assessments and newborn evaluations.
• Manage pain assessments and epidural anesthesia.
• Provide comprehensive postpartum care and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must Have Skills: Experience in L&D, LDRP, and postpartum care. Ability to manage a 3 couplet assignment.
• Preferred Skillset: Experience in Level 1 Nursery, Mother/Baby care, and circulating for c-sections.
