Overview Position Overview At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), our CDL Drivers are essential—delivering materials safely, efficiently, and with pride. Responsibilities and Qualifications Key Responsibilities Vehicle Operation Safely operates company vehicles, including up to 26' trucks, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Conducts pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness. Delivers materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service. Additional training such as forklift and other specified equipment may be required. Basic understanding and knowledge of the operation of a forklift and other equipment. Delivery & Customer Service Unloads materials at delivery locations and verifies deliveries against packing slips. Ensures deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively. The ability to unload, protect, move and stage materials as specified by customer directive. Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials. Safety Adheres to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Follows all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment. Uses proper lifting techniques. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing. Communication Must attend and participate in all required meetings in relation to material delivery and overall company. Training Requirements Attends and participates in all required company training programs. Physical Job Requirements Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation. Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day. Occasionally lifts and/or moves 80 lbs. and climbs ladders carrying up to 50 lbs. Pushing and pulling carts loaded over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team. Must be able to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles and must understand and be able to use miscellaneous tools and equipment, including but not limited to: dollies, flat carts, and rock carts. Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned. Qualifications Possesses a valid Class A or Class B CDL. Minimum 1‑year consistent commercial driving experience. Works well in a team environment. Compensation and Benefits Reports To Branch Manager Compensation The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full‑time position with competitive pay and benefits.
