Job Description Summary
Imaging Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and supervising all of Imaging department services and programs. Director ensures the quality and satisfaction of all Imaging services provided by the department. Works in conjunction with the Medical Director to ensure that both provide high quality Imaging service to the patients as well to the Medical Staff. Responsible for the leadership and direction of various managers and team leaders within Imaging services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school (Required)
- Master's Degree
- Other Degree in MBA, MHA, or related field (Preferred)
- Work Experience: 7 or more years
- Radiology Experience: 7 or more years (Required)
- Progressive Leadership Experience: 7 or more years (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
Essential Functions
- Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
- Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers/users. Uses correct terminology. Conforms to required style and format.
- Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role. Understands equipment operation. Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology.
- Performs administrative duties within the Imaging Department.
- Maintains the operations of the Imaging department within the fiscal and productivity guidelines of the PPMH.
- Manages the human resources of the Imaging Department and any other department assigned.
- Oversees and handles patient and physician complaints, ensures adequate staffing to handle workload.
- Conducts yearly evaluations of staff and oversees QA processes of the Imaging Department.
- Controls expenses for labor and non-labor.
- Ensures personnel receive required training to perform high quality and safe procedures.
- Creates operating and capital budgets.
- Develops overall strategic plan for Imaging Services.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to improve timeliness and service.
- Fosters high-quality customer service, monitors patient satisfaction regularly.
- Keep staff informed about customer service, follows up on complaints or service breakdowns, provides retraining or discipline of staff when needed.
- Ensures high quality exams performed by staff.
- Develops systems to monitor staff performance and competency.
- Ensures staff performs exams according to established protocols.
- Conducts monthly staff meetings and updates staff on protocol changes or new ones.
