General Statement of Job PLEASE REVIEW "SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS" SALARY PER GAME Ensures that County coordinated games are officiated and that rules are obeyed for the Department of Parks & Recreation. Monitors proper conduct among players, coaches and fans; inspects fields; calls games; penalizes for rule infractions and corrects scorekeeper errors. Requires general knowledge of event or any equivalent combination of training/experience. Under general supervision of Director of Parks and Recreation and administrative staff Special Duties & Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Inspect the field. Call the game. Penalize for rule infraction. Correct scorekeeper. Additional Job Functions Performs other duties as may be required and assigned Minimum Training & Experience Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Knowledge of the game and rules along with the ability to control players and coaches. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to display tact, courtesy and good judgment to Baseball/Softball users or guests. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Special Requirements Must be 14 years of age or older (under 16 years requires a work permit). Ability to work evenings and weekends. Approximately 20 hours bi-weekly (weekdays 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., weekends 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Suitable references are persons who could testify to your character/work ethic (non-family members) for who you have provided a direct service (i.e. house sitting, pet sitting, babysitting, yard maintenance, repair, etc.) References could include a: guidance counselor, teacher/teachers aide, coach, sponsor of a club or group, head of a volunteer organization, or a copy of a recent report card, etc. No County authorized benefits associated with this classification. #J-18808-Ljbffr
