Staff Accountant

Express Employment Professionals of Everett is hiring a Staff Accountant for a small, fast-paced company located in Marysville , WA. Starting pay is $27–$30 per hour . This is a full-time, evaluation hire position on day shift working Monday–Friday, 8:00/9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All work is on-site (no remote). This role supports the Controller and plays a strategic part in the financial and operational management of the business. The ideal candidate is mature, dependable, and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. You’ll thrive in a laid-back environment while handling a wide range of responsibilities—from high-level accounting to hands-on operational tasks. Duties include but are not limited to: Perform and oversee core accounting functions: Accounts Payable (AP) invoice entry and processing Accounts Receivable (AR) invoice review and reconciliation B&O tax coding and compliance Monthly and year-end close procedures Bank and general ledger reconciliations Sales tax filings Research and resolution of accounting discrepancies Support the Controller with special projects and strategic initiatives Supervise and guide junior accounting staff Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors Take ownership of delegated tasks and follow through independently Requirements: Must be well-versed in AP/AR and B&O Taxes Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Proven dependability and initiative Minimum six months of recent work experience Two professional references required Benefits of working with Express include: Medical benefits Holiday pay Optional 401(k) Training and more!
