Job Summary:
The responsibility of the Cook is to prepare congregate meals for our congregate meal program. He/she reports to the Lead Chef.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and safe conditions.
- Prepare, cook and serve food according to recommended instruction.
- Make local food purchases when necessary.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and areas according to Health Department ordinances.
- Maintain inventory of food and household supplies on hand and as needed.
Qualifications/Criteria:
- Must possess Food Handling Certification.
- Previous related experience in food preparation.
- Ability to read and write English in order to follow written menus, recipes and work schedules.
- Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other staff and residents.
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
