Position DevSecOps Engineer (Full‑time, In‑person in Washington, DC) This role focuses on integrating security throughout the development pipeline for a key federal client. Clearance Requirements U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one at the time of hire. Position will require access to classified information. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain secure, automated infrastructure. Integrate security controls (automated vulnerability scanning, static and dynamic analysis, security testing) into the CI/CD process. Automate and orchestrate security processes, including incident response and threat detection, using tools such as Splunk and Chef Automate. Ensure compliance with security standards in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable software applications supporting modernization of legacy systems. Participate in Agile development sprints, including planning, estimation, and daily stand‑ups. Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure unit, integration testing, and validation of new releases. Support cloud‑based deployments using CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Assist in identifying and remediating software vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks. Contribute to technical documentation, including system design and operational procedures. Work under senior engineering guidance to adhere to security and coding standards. Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications Hands‑on experience implementing DevSecOps practices in CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab. Experience with cybersecurity platforms (CrowdStrike, Zscaler, etc.). Deep understanding of cloud security and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Proficiency in automation, monitoring, and security integration. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of full‑stack software engineering experience. Experience contributing front‑end (React), serverless cloud native (AWS, Azure), data integrations, ETL pipelines, and SQL. Proven experience with large‑scale system modernization or digital transformation projects. Expertise in software architecture, system design, legacy platform modernization. Deep technical knowledge of cloud‑native development, microservices, and container orchestration. Proficiency with API development, integration, and data exchange architectures. Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with licensing, enforcement, or compliance systems in a national security or regulatory context. Experience in data modeling, system integration planning, or enterprise architecture alignment. Experience with Palantir Foundry. Teleworking Policy The company has a hybrid remote policy. This position may require on‑site work in the federal facility depending on contractual requirements.
