Job Description 

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading daily shipping, receiving, and finished‐goods warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost‐effective material flow in support of production and customer requirements at Creative Liquid Coatings, Inc. This role provides frontline leadership to shipping and receiving personnel, enforces standard work, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Shipping Supervisor supports inventory accuracy, efficient dock operations, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Roles and Responsibilities 
Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Operations 

• Lead and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities to support production and customer delivery requirements. 
• Ensure outgoing shipments are accurate, complete, and shipped on time in accordance with customer routing, packaging, and documentation requirements. 
• Ensure incoming materials are received, scanned, labeled, and put away accurately and promptly. 
• Manage dock operations including staging lanes, dunnage lanes, scrap container movement, and dock housekeeping. 
• Establish and maintain shipping lanes, material locations, and Plan for Every Part (PFEP) logic. 

Systems, Documentation & Inventory Control 

• Utilize ERP systems (IQMS, QAD, or similar) to manage orders, shipments, receipts, inventory movements, and documentation. 
• Ensure accurate processing of ASNs, pick tickets, packing slips, bills of lading, and inter‐plant shipping documents. 
• Maintain inventory accuracy through FIFO compliance, cycle counting, and customer‐owned packaging management. 
• Ensure timely replenishment of materials to production areas as required. 

Transportation & Customer Support 

• Coordinate transportation scheduling and dock appointments with Customer Service, Production, and Logistics partners. 
• Monitor shipment schedules and proactively communicate delivery risks, shortages, or constraints to management. 
• Support freight cost control initiatives while meeting customer delivery commitments. 

Team Leadership & Training 

• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate shipping, receiving, and material handling personnel across assigned shifts. 
• Maintain training records, forklift certifications, and compliance with standard work. 
• Administer performance feedback and discipline in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. 
• Promote accountability, engagement, and consistent execution of warehouse standards. 

Safety, Quality & Compliance 

• Lead safety compliance efforts within shipping and receiving areas, including forklift inspections and hazard identification. 
• Maintain warehouse, dock, and material handling areas to 5S / 6S standards. 
• Support Layered Process Audits (LPAs), IATF 16949 requirements, and internal or customer audits. 
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. 

Continuous Improvement 

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and plant‐wide teams focused on efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery. 
• Identify opportunities to improve material flow, dock utilization, and shipping accuracy. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by Materials or Plant leadership. 

Skill and Education Requirements 

• Associate degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required with relevant experience. 
• 2–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material‐handling operations. 
• Prior supervisory or team‐lead experience required. 
• Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping processes, and inventory control principles. 
• Experience using ERP systems; IQMS experience preferred. 
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks under time constraints. 
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‐solving skills. 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels. 
• Ability to operate forklifts, scanners, and material‐handling equipment. 
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and push or pull up to 250 pounds. 

Work Environment 

• Work is performed in warehouse, dock, and manufacturing environments. 
• Exposure to moving equipment, industrial noise, airborne particles, fumes, and temperature variation. 
• Wet, humid, hot, or cold conditions may be encountered. 
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 
• Noise levels may exceed OSHA limits in some areas.

Authority 

• Authority to direct and prioritize daily shipping and receiving operations. 
• Authority to assign work, enforce standard work, and maintain dock and warehouse standards. 
• Authority to take actions necessary to ensure quality parts are shipped accurately and on time. 
• Authority to administer discipline in accordance with company policies. 
• Authority to escalate safety, quality, inventory, or delivery risks to management. 
• Authority to recommend process, staffing, and layout improvements.
