Housekeeper

Job Description Performs various housekeeping functions such as cleaning patient rooms, administrative offices, halls, floors, bathrooms and other public areas in order to maintain the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition in compliance with regulatory standards. Required to move furniture, stripping and waxing, burnishing (buffing) and carpet cleaning. Employees hired primarily for floor care shall be self-motivated, able to work independently and operate large floor-care equipment. This position shall consist primarily of floor care, but the employee will assist in regular cleaning when scheduled. Responsibilities Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, stairways and other work areas Strips, waxes, polishes floors, and extracts carpets Performs cleaning activities according to established guidelines Vacuums carpeted floors Correctly prepares cleaning solution to disinfect Washes walls, ceilings and windows Dust and wet mops Empties wastebaskets in appropriate container Transports trash and waste to disposal areas Collects infectious waste in red biohazard bags or sharps and replaces supplies Removes & transports soiled linens to waste storage area Distributes laundered articles and linens Maintains appropriate inventory levels Replenishes bathroom supplies Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least one (1) to three (3) months of experience required.
