Job Title: Shipping Associate

Job Description

The Shipping Associate plays a key role in managing outbound shipments and ensuring accurate, timely delivery of manufactured products to customers and internal facilities. You will process and prepare shipments, operate material handling equipment, and maintain organized shipping and receiving areas while consistently following safety protocols and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient shipping and receiving areas.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards.
• Properly handle manufactured components, including machined parts, welded assemblies, and 3D-printed items.
• Process and prepare outbound shipments according to standard operating procedures.
• Verify package contents, weights, and shipping labels for accuracy before shipment.
• Package items appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
• Perform quality checks on packaged items to ensure accuracy and condition prior to shipment.
• Coordinate with carriers and transportation providers to schedule and manage pickups.
• Use internal shipping systems and software to track and document shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation for all outgoing and incoming shipments.
• Communicate shipment status clearly and promptly to manufacturing teams and customers.
• Coordinate with production teams on order readiness, priorities, and scheduling.
• Report any shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly to the appropriate teams.
• Support inventory-related activities, including basic inventory checks and reconciliation as needed.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Proficiency with computers and shipping software.
• Experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse shipping environments.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher.
• 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Current forklift certification.
• Experience with automated shipping systems.
• OSHA safety certification.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Demonstrated high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments.
• Safety-focused mindset with consistent adherence to protocols and procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Team-oriented and collaborative working style.

Work Environment

This role supports a manufacturing service focused on producing high-quality components through advanced processes such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly. You will work closely with design engineers, product developers, operations engineers, and product testing teams in a dynamic, production-oriented environment. The position is for 2nd shift, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., requiring comfort with standing, moving materials, and operating material handling equipment throughout the shift. The facility uses internal shipping systems, inventory tools, and ERP software, and follows strict safety and OSHA-compliant procedures to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Seattle,WA.
