Overview The Activities Director is responsible for the overall direction of the care community’s activity program. Benefits for an Activities Director: Promotion opportunities Flexibility Education/Learning Competitive benefit package Responsibilities Develops, coordinates and evaluates the activity programming within the care community. Completes sections of the MDS and develops care plans that are specific to each resident. Interviews new residents and their families to determine interests and abilities, family history and background. Responsible for the development and on-going success of the Volunteer program. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies to carry out activities. Participates in the QAPI process. Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her own professional competence. Schedules and evaluates staff to ensure adequate program coverage, including weekend, evenings and holidays. Responsible for creation and management of activity calendar. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Must have high school diploma or equivalent. College and/or clerical schooling preferred. Successful completion of Activity Director Course or 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program.
