Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is responsible for planning, managing, and executing acoustic analysis, modeling, design, and testing activities that ensure customer requirements and regulatory noise criteria are achieved.Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Plan and manage the Acoustics Department workload in collaboration with Safran Aero Boosters and other cross-functional engineering teams.-Lead and perform acoustic and aeroacoustic analyses for engine test facilities, exhaust systems, intake systems, silencers, and related aerospace applications.-Develop, validate, and maintain acoustic prediction methodologies, modeling tools, and analysis processes used throughout the project lifecycle.-Perform acoustic modeling and analysis, including noise source characterization, sound propagation studies, insertion loss calculations, transmission loss assessments, and regulatory compliance evaluations.-Ensure acoustic engineering deliverables meet quality standards while adhering to project budgets, schedules, and customer requirements.-Participate in project planning activities, including the development of acoustic work scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and technical risk assessments.-Support sales and business development efforts through acoustic performance predictions, technical reports, customer presentations, feasibility studies, and proposal development.-Maintain and continuously improve Safran Test Cells' acoustic analysis tools, design methodologies, and engineering standards.-Plan, coordinate, and provide technical leadership for acoustic testing, field measurements, data acquisition, and validation activities at both model and full-scale facilities.-Serve as the subject matter expert for acoustics and aeroacoustics, providing technical guidance to internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders.-Mentor and support engineers in acoustic analysis methods, noise control design, testing techniques, and industry best practices.-Drive innovation and research initiatives focused on advanced noise reduction technologies, acoustic performance optimization, and emerging industry standards. -Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance engineering processes, analytical methods, tools, and procedures.-Other duties as assigned.Candidate skills & requirementsEducation/Experience - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical or related field with 5+ years of related experience required. - Master's degree or Ph.D. in Acoustics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field preferred. - Experience with engine test facilities, gas turbine testing, aerospace propulsion systems, industrial noise control, or large-scale acoustic infrastructure projects. preferred. Qualifications -Working knowledge of computational analysis tools such as Ansys Fluent CFD, with the ability to evaluate aerodynamic and aeroacoustics performance of engine test facilities and related systems.-Advanced proficiency in ACTRAN for acoustic, vibroacoustic, and aeroacoustic simulation and analysis.-Advanced proficiency in SoundPLAN for environmental noise modeling, sound propagation analysis, noise mapping, and regulatory compliance assessments.-Experience with acoustic prediction methodologies, noise source characterization, transmission loss, insertion loss, sound power calculations, and noise control system design.-Proficiency with at least two of the following: MATLAB, Nastran FEA, 3D Solid Modeling (Siemens NX preferred), CAD, CAE, or other engineering analysis software.-Demonstrated knowledge of acoustics, aeroacoustics, fluid dynamics, vibration, and noise control engineering principles.-Experience planning, conducting, and interpreting acoustic measurements, field testing, data acquisition, and validation activities.-Ability to develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, reports, and customer-facing recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.-Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with customers, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders while delivering a positive customer experience.-Demonstrated commitment to engineering excellence through accuracy, attention to detail, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement.-Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis, technical troubleshooting, risk assessment, and implementation of effective solutions.-Knowledge of engineering risk assessment methodologies, including FMEA/FMECA, uncertainty analysis, and validation techniques.-Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.-Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.Annual salary$115,000-$125,000Job locationJob locationNorth America, United States, Minnesota, MinneapolisCity (-ies)651 Campus Drive Suite 100, New Brighton, MN 55112Applicant criteriaMinimum education level achievedBachelor's DegreeMinimum experience level requiredMore than 5 yearsITAR Controlled Position: Select "Yes" if role requires U.S. citizenship/permanent residencyYes
