Job Title: Plant Procurement Coordinator Department: Sales General Function This position will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the plant category. This position will work with vendors in procuring product, maintaining proper inventory and gross profit for the betterment of our customers. The candidate will be self-motivated, creative, with strong leadership skills. This position is constantly changing and evolving in new areas. The qualified person will maintain a positive attitude, create an environment that nurtures positive employee morale, friendliness, fun and positive customer service. Scheduling for this position is Monday through Friday and weekends based on the fluctuation of business and holidays. Reporting Relations Accountable and Reports to: President Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities Understand all aspects of plant procurement. Maintain strong customer relationships by coordinating plant sales opportunities. Take care of customer needs in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner. Keep aware of industry and market area to provide the best service to customers. Build strong vendor relationships in accordance to Hy-Vee's code of ethics. Source, procure, price, and market plant products. Coordinate pricing structures and merchandise to meet warehouse and department sales goals. Create category POs for company-wide purchase and enter sales orders into system in a timely manner. Organize purchasing and inventory data into meaningful reports. Periodically works in refrigerated area; temperature 36º to 42º F. Attend company meetings and participate in all trade shows. Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Represent Hy-Vee & FDI in a positive manner. Maintain a positive and nurturing attitude with employees to create a friendly, team-based environment. Perform miscellaneous other duties as necessary and in a timely manner. Report to work when scheduled and on time; work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Education and Experience High School or equivalent; an understanding of customer service, knowledge of plants and/or sales experience is required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics Must be customer service driven and able to communicate clear and effectively. Must have basic working knowledge of computer use, to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook e-mail and calendars. Able to operate menu driven computer programs with mouse, 10 key keypad, and alpha numeric keyboard. Ability to read and obey MSDS information on products. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers. Must have the ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions. Must be able to file, post, sort, and organize materials, paperwork and software used. Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform work duties in a refrigerated environment.
• Must be able to physically perform light to moderate work: exerting/lifting 10-50 lbs. frequently.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, climbing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions The duties of this position are performed in an office setting but will have be required to work periodically in a warehouse and refrigerated settings. There is frequent exposure to noise and continual exposure to temperature changes. Equipment Used to Perform Job Personal Computer with Word, Excel, Outlook, SBT, Acumatica, and Savant. Training on computer software will be provided. Fresh flower cutter, knife, pallet jack, four-wheel carts, and strapper. A digital camera, copier, and fax may also be required.
