About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Marshfield, Wisconsin, 54449!

Job Title: Med Surg/Telemetry RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: IV skills Experience with drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters Proficient in Electronic Health Record systems Intermediate care background Description: The unit participates in an auto-offer process for interview selections. This unit has 29 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during days and 1:6 during nights. Common diagnoses include abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical cases. Registered nurses will be required to titrate drips, including heparin, and occasionally insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin. Telemetry monitoring is managed by dedicated techs who will alert nurses to any concerns regarding patient rhythms. Nurses have access to a monitor to view patient rhythms at all times. The charge nurse takes a smaller patient assignment and is not responsible for agency staff working in a charge role. Nurse aides are available, with ratios of 1:8 during days and 1:14 during nights. Available equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and vapotherm, with occasional tracheostomy needs, but no ventilators. Shift scheduling does not guarantee block scheduling, though efforts are made for night shift block scheduling. Weekend requirements are every other week, and holiday requirements are every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement for nurses. Nurses may float to other medical/surgical units if the unit is overstaffed. Scrubs of any color are acceptable. All clinicians are expected to clock in and out during their shift.
