Test and Evaluation Hardware Design Engineer (Associate & Experienced)Company:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking Hardware Engineers to be based in Long Beach, CA, supporting the development and sustainment of our avionics lab and related test activities.You'll have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that will shape the future of the aerospace industry. Our current initiatives include developing an integrated test lab for flight hardware, avionics, and flight simulators. Major programs include AvionX, C-17 and others.As a Hardware Engineer in BT&E, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of lab hardware and sustainment of new and legacy units. In addition, you will document requirements, develop and maintain test articles and interfaces in support of various programs using the lab. Additionally, you will perform seamless hardware and software integration ensuring all systems work harmoniously together to support qualification and provide support in troubleshooting and resolving lab issues of new and legacy test equipment.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Hardware Engineers.Position Responsibilities Include:Perform systems verification through execution of test proceduresSupport the development and verification of test methodsDevelop detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize riskDevelop solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impactDesign test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirementsUse analytical tools to verify the designAnalyze, process, and format data to customer requirementsReview test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customerPrepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirementsPresent test results to internal and external customersArchive data and reportsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US CitizenshipBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement1+ years of experience with electronic hardware testing and troubleshooting1+ years of experience with testing in the realms of Software and Electronic Hardware development1+ years of experience working in a laboratory environmentExperience dealing with various wiring design drawings including system interconnects, wire routing and equipment installation drawingsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience1 + years of experience working with electrical data bus interface standards (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-232)1 + years of experience working with MIL-STD Connectors such as D38999Experience with generating electrical drawings using AutoCAD or VisioExperience in mechanical design and CAD systems (NX, Team Center, CATIA)Experience with hardware configuration control and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, TeamCenter).Experience in the creation of Statement of Work and estimates, plans, schedules and corrective actionExperience in developing hardware verification plans, test procedures and test environments, as well as executing the test procedures and documenting test resultsGreat teammate, able to work in collaborative environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
