Ultrasound Technologist II

Job Summary Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies, providing high‑quality, timely care to patients in a courteous and respectful manner. Responsibilities Perform ultrasound procedures and examinations in accordance with department guidelines. Clearly communicate and obtain patient consent before examinations. Take patient history and assess medical, cardiac, or vascular status prior to study. Assemble patient charts, enter information into EMR/PACS, and record imaging studies for review. Complete patient billing, entering charges daily with minimal errors, and print reports from PAC, Epic, and On Demand. Support department goals by participating in development of new diagnostic procedures, evaluating new equipment, and educating staff. Maintain safety and infection control: practice universal precautions, disinfect equipment, and keep the environment clean and safe. Provide exceptional patient service: demonstrate courtesy, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, and deliver cost‑effective care. Participate in performance improvement activities, collecting data and recommending changes to increase efficiency. Deliver age‑appropriate care, assessing and interpreting age‑specific data and involving families in decision making. Offer specialized high‑risk patient care, including restraint use, pain management, and abuse assessment in accordance with policy. Assist with day‑to‑day department operations, including clerical duties, safety surveys, and report retrieval. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Requirements Graduate of an approved AS program in Medical Sonography or pending graduation from an approved BS program with RDMS(AS) certification. Completion of a Sonography program and at least two ARDMS or CCI registries in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Echo, or Vascular. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in abdominal, musculoskeletal, breast, or OB/GYN ultrasound preferred. BLS certification upon hire and RDMS(AB) within 12 months of hire. Additional certifications (Breast, Pediatric, Musculoskeletal, or Vascular) encouraged and tuition reimbursed 100% for full‑time employees. Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, EMR/PACS systems, billing systems, and standard office equipment. Ability to administer patient billing accurately and efficiently. Physical capability to lift, move, and handle patients and equipment, with the ability to transfer patients and handle heavy equipment up to 400 lbs.
