TIG Fabrication & Metal Assembly Technician Location: Hanover, PA Job Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-3:00 PM | Occasional Saturdays | Overtime Required Starting Pay: From $24.00/hour (Higher starting pay available based on experience) Position Summary We are looking for a skilled TIG Fabrication & Metal Assembly Technician to join a busy metal fabrication shop. This position focuses on fitting, fabricating, and welding aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal materials to produce handrails and miscellaneous metal products. The ideal candidate has strong TIG welding experience, can read fabrication drawings, and is committed to producing high-quality work in a safe, fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities Fabricate, fit, and weld aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal components for handrails and miscellaneous metal products. Perform TIG welding to produce clean, accurate, and structurally sound welds. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions. Measure, lay out, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications. Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including saws, notchers, grinders, and various hand tools. Assemble and align parts using jigs, fixtures, measuring tools, and layout equipment before welding. Safely move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead lifting equipment when required. Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with shop safety procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience performing TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel in a fabrication environment. Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately. Proficient with tape measures, layout tools, and common fabrication hand tools. Knowledge of shop math, including fractions, measurements, and basic geometry. Ability to identify and resolve fit-up, layout, and welding issues with minimal supervision. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing production priorities. Familiarity with metal fabrication equipment and shop processes. Dependable with good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Performs well in deadline-driven production environments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements throughout the shift. Close visual attention is required to inspect weld quality and complete detailed fabrication work safely and accurately.
