Communications ManagerWork Arrangement: Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite | 2 days remotePosition SummaryThe Communications Manager will be responsible for leading and improving the agency's internal and external communication efforts. This position combines strategic communication, content development, media relations, branding, and public information responsibilities.The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and communicator who can manage multiple communication channels, support agency leadership, and help strengthen brand consistency and public trust.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement internal and external communication strategies.Consult with the BCO team to establish effective communication procedures and policies for routine situations and crisis communications.Draft, edit, and publish media releases related to agency news, initiatives, and critical public information.Develop talking points and communication materials for agency and state leadership.Respond to media inquiries and coordinate communication with journalists and media outlets.Create press kits and other media-relations materials.Write professional letters, memos, announcements, and other business correspondence.Manage and support external communication channels, including social media platforms, website content, and media relations.Develop branding materials, templates, style guides, media-release formats, and other standardized communication resources.Maintain consistency in agency messaging, branding, and communication standards.Coach and assist team members with improving written and verbal communication skills.Conduct communications research and monitor the effectiveness and progress of communication strategies.Represent AZDOHS at conferences, events, task forces, workgroups, and community meetings as needed.Participate in general AZDOHS staff activities and perform additional duties as assigned.Key SkillsStrategic CommunicationsMedia RelationsPublic RelationsCrisis CommunicationsContent Writing & EditingSocial Media ManagementWebsite ContentBranding & Style GuidelinesPress Release DevelopmentExecutive Talking PointsBusiness CorrespondencePublic SpeakingResearch & Communications AnalysisStakeholder EngagementStrong Written & Verbal CommunicationOrganization & Project ManagementWork ScheduleThis position follows a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
