THEOPPORTUNITY
Thisisanexcitingopportunitytobeourclient’sfirstChiefTechnologyOfficer.Thisisaleadershiprole,notahands-on-keyboardrole:
- Youwillowntheentireengineeringorganization–productengineering,platformandinfrastructure,security,andreliability–foraplatformthatmovesmoneyforsophisticatedfinancialinstitutions.
Todaytheengineeringteamisroughly100peopleandgrowingfast.Ithasbeenbuiltbyfounderswhostayedclosetothecode.
Yourmandateistotakeitthroughthescalingtransition:
- Buildthemanagementlayer,installthehiringengine,raisetheoperationalbar,andgivethefoundersleverage–whilekeepingtheshippingcadencethatgotushere.
EquallycentraltothemandateisAltransformation–onbothfronts.
Intheproduct:
- EmbeddingAlintocompanyproducts,fromintelligentdocumentandinvoiceprocessingtospendintelligenceandagenticworkflows.
Intheorganization:
- MakingAl-assisteddevelopmentadurableproductivityadvantageacrosstheengineeringteam,notasideexperiment.
WewantaCTOwhohasalreadysuccessfullyledthisshiftinothercompaniesandislookingforagreatnewcompanytohelpbuild.
YouwillreportdirectlytotheCEOandoperateasatruethoughtpartnertothefoundingteamonproductstrategy,commercialcommitments,andcompanydirection.

- Scalingtheorganization. Designandbuildtheengineeringorgforthenextstage–teamstructure,managementlayer,careerpaths,andoperatingrhythm.
- Thehiringengine. Buildtherecruitingsystemitself:pipeline,assessmentstandards,andanemployerstorythatattractsseniorengineerstoacompanytheymaynotyetknow.
- Deliveryandreliability. Ownboththepaceandthequalityofexecutionacrosstheplatform–shippingatstartupcadencewiththesecurity,uptime,andauditabilityfinancialinstitutionsdemand.
- Altransformation–productandorganization. SetandexecutetheAlroadmapacrossourproducts(documentintelligence,spendanalytics,agenticworkflows)anddriveAladoptioninsideengineering‑tooling,standards,andmeasurableproductivitygains–withthegovernanceapaymentsplatformrequires.
- Technicaljudgmentthroughothers. Setarchitecturedirectionandcatchriskearlywithoutwritingthecodeyourself-througharchitecturereviews,incidentreviews,andstayingclosetothegroundtruth.
- Securityandtrust. Championthesecuritypostureandcompliancereadinessexpectedbyhedgefunds,privateequityfirms,andfamilyofficesmovingrealmoneyonourrails.
- Managementpartnership. Translatebetweenbusinessandtechnologyinbothdirections:shapetheroadmapwithcommercialrealityinmind,andgivetheCo-foundersanhonest,currentviewofengineeringcapacityandrisk.

- AnAltransformationleader. YouhaveledanAltransformationofbothproductandorganization–shippedAl-poweredcapabilitiesthatclientsactuallyuseandchangedhowanengineeringteambuildssoftwarewithAl.YoucandistinguishdurableAladvantagefromdemos,andyouknowhowtodothissafelyinaregulated,money-movingcontext.
- Abuilderofhiringsystems. Youhavepersonallyconstructedhiringpipelinesandtalentbrands,ratherthanrelyingonalargecompany’srecruitingmachinery.
- Leadershipthroughothers. Youdevelopmanagers,delegaterealownership,retainseniortalent,andholdahigh-performancebar-andyouearnengineers’respectwithoutre-insertingyourselfasleadengineer.
- Technicalcredibility. Deepenoughtechnicalgroundingthatseniorengineerstrustyourjudgment,eventhoughyouwillnotbewritingproductioncode.
