Job Title

RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry, Float Pool

Location

Brighton, MA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 36 hours per week | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Float across multiple acute care units including medical-surgical, orthopedics, urology, neurology, gynecology, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardiothoracic
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
• Deliver direct patient care within a float pool model, adapting quickly to varying unit environments and patient populations
• Manage intravenous therapy and medications in accordance with facility protocols
• Maintain an average patient ratio of 5:1 across assigned units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes across all assigned departments

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Step-down experience required for night shift placement
• Demonstrated ability to independently read telemetry strips; must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or higher (two attempts permitted)
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic health record system and IV management
• At least one recent, successfully completed travel nursing contract
• Active certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Psychiatric nursing experience highly preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system strongly preferred
• 5 or more years of float pool nursing experience
