Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities Provide maintenance expertise to service, repair, and maintain process and utility pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment currently in service. Understand customer (Operations) needs and requirements; work effectively with customers, answer questions with tact, and demonstrate good customer service. Improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness in a production environment through condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and assisting in engineering changes. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment while following departmental rules and regulations. Prioritize safety and adhere to applicable safety procedures and practices. Troubleshoot root causes of machine problems (e.g., excessive vibration or temperature, bearing failures, abnormal noises, poor performance) and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Perform repairs and overhaul equipment (e.g., gear boxes, pumps, blowers, fans, drives); disassemble, set tolerances, align, and reset timing (e.g., air compressors, vacuum pumps). Set up equipment to design specifications (timing, leveling, alignment) and operate precision alignment equipment (e.g., Rotalign, lasers). Document repair actions in the CMMS program MAXIMO. Support areas outside primary responsibilities and learn additional skills as required. Basic Qualifications High school diploma/GED Minimum 2 years of automation experience Mechanically skilled Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not provide work authorization or visa sponsorship for this role Additional Skills/Preferences Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level sufficient to communicate technical and business information Proficiency using business software programs such as Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work effectively in a team environment Physical ability to work with or around equipment, climb ladders and stairs, and use PPE; exposure to adverse weather may occur Hands-on experience with repair of equipment Ability to use basic troubleshooting tools (e.g., multimeters, calipers) Additional Information Work around potentially dangerous and hazardous equipment, powders, liquids, and gases; safety is paramount. 12-hour night shift on a 2-2-3 rotation (5:45 PM to 6:00 AM). Compensation and Benefits Actual compensation will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The anticipated wage for this position is $28.12 - $41.25 per hour. Full-time employees are eligible for a company bonus (depending on company and individual performance).
