Collectively, we are committed to a simple management approach, which influences our company culture and our management style.Job SummaryThe Shop Technician has primary responsibility for EMCO an AFC Industries Company. This important position is a hands-on role that requires in-depth knowledge of building electrical control cabinets and mechanical sub-assemblies. Aside from electro-mechanical solutions, they will need to know, or learn, how to build Hydraulic and Pneumatic panels and assemblies.The Shop Technician is responsible for all technical and administrative tasks associated with equipment builds and quality control. The Shop Technician will assist in coordinating production with sales and operations to meet delivery schedules and profitability goals.Our optimum candidate will be dependable, have a working knowledge of schematics and BOMs, possess the ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems, be familiar with hand power tools and reading tape measures, lead by example, be a team player, be accountable, have strong communication skills, enjoy solving problems, and stay calm under pressure.Role and ResponsibilitiesFollow electrical and hydraulic schematics / drawings to assemble industrial electrical panels and hydraulic power unitsLayout wireway, din rail & components in accordance with drawingsMounting of components to back panels and enclosuresRouting and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standardsPoint to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & InstrumentationTroubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctionsMaintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabricationProblem-solve technical issuesInspect orders when they are completeMaintain shop tools and supplies and perform other duties as assigned or as neededCore CompetenciesAttention to detailAbility to problem solve and learn related skills quicklyAbility to learn hydraulic and pneumatic skills and/or electrical skillsBasic computer skills, experience with MS Office, ERP, Scheduling Tools are a plusQualifications1-3 years of electrical control panel assembly and/or hydraulic experience preferredStrong background in Point to Point and Functional Testing a plusAbility to understand and work from technical schematicsHave or Learn Basic computer skills: MS Office, ERP, Scheduling ToolsHigh School Graduate or equivalent - related Technical Degree a plusAbility to lift 50lbs and all physical requirements associated with Panel BuildingPosition: Full-timeWork Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM Flex hours available after training, (7am-5pm)Pay Rate: $22-28/hour, depending upon experienceBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWe are an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled employer.#AFC123
