What are we looking for? The Engineering Field Technician I performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. The base wage or salary range for this position is $22 p/h - $39 p/h . Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. What you'll do:
Due to the requirements of the U.S. Government contract and the nature of the work performed on a U.S. Navy installation, U.S. citizenship is required for this position . The selected candidate must also successfully complete all applicable Navy installation access and background screening requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
- Operate testing equipment and conduct construction testing (example: Soil, concrete, asphalt, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
- Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
- Communicate effectively with client and project teams
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally and be able to walk/stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
- Ability to work over night hours and off shift
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
- Ability and willingness to work off shift and overtime as needed
