Educates patients about their exams and follow through with communication and discharge after completing exams. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, adapting protocols for patients of all ages and practicing infection control standards.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgroundsKnowledge of imaging procedures/protocolsKnowledge of imaging scanners/equipmentAbility to learn and grow with new technologyExcellent customer service skillsSafety knowledge/screening of areas they are credentialed/registered in.Basic Life Support (BLS)Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as PACS, Imaging equipment, workstations and EMR.Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.Maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, shielding and distance to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable for patients and staff.Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet TAT goals.Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV's for use in CT and MR studies.The ability to assess, explain and perform all studies that a registry is held in on all patients of all ages.General computer skills and PACSBasic IV competencyGeneral physics and anatomyEducationHigh School Grad or EquivalentAssociatesField of Studyin Radiologic TechnologyWork Experience3+ years experience in radiology with a year or more in additional modalitiesYears' experienceAdditional InformationAdditional Licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
