We offer flexible work scheduling and a full benefits package including medical insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and membership in the North Carolina retirement system.This position performs advanced and specialized professional level nursing work in providing primary, preventive, and rehabilitative care to individuals, families and communities in a Public Health program.Examples of duties include:Supervises coordination and collaborative efforts of the multidisciplinary staff working in programs and clinics.Observes and assesses clinic flow for all services in collaboration with other program coordinators/unit heads to evaluate and plan for changes that are more efficiently used for personnel and work area.Assesses combined services provided to patients to ensure their safety in the management of care by the staff.Provides information to the Director of Nursing and the Health Director regarding information and concerns regarding all program services through the provision of meetings, memos, and/or written proposals.Ensures that program guidelines, policies and procedures are relevant and updated to present need status for program services and that the quality of care is assured and State requirements are met.Responsible for the planning of work operations for program services.Participates in the decision making processes for all areas of program administration.Maintains the equipment Quality Assurance.Initiates program goals and objectives, long and short range.Develops a strong referral and resource network within the community, which is of primary importance, in order to meet the client and program needs.Formulates plans for integration of new services for areas which need strengthening.Assesses individual clinics and staff needs for areas of weakness and improved nursing care.Works independently to plan and monitor public health services that affect patient care, pregnancy outcomes, safety and well-being of patients and staff.Serves as a resource for the interaction with different providers and staff (MDs, PAs, NP's, RNs, OBCMs, Nutritionists, Lab and Management Support personnel).Maintains close working relationships with other supervisory staff in the agency and attends regularly scheduled agency team meetings.May serve on the Child Fatality Prevention Team (CFPT), which includes a Child Fatality Prevention Team (CFPT) sub-committee for Scotland County.Provides Disaster Health Services for the American Red Cross as assigned.Typical qualifications include:Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation, and two years of Public Health nursing experience;OR, Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing, and two years of professional nursing experience;OR, Graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience;OR, an equivalent combination of training and experience.Special requirements include:A current license to practice as a Register Nurse in North Carolina by the N. C. Board of NursingA valid Driver's LicenseBackground records check, drug screen, references, transcripts and certifications will be required for the successful candidate.
