Location 9165 E Del Camino Dr,Suite 101,Scottsdale, AZ, 85258,United States Base Pay $123,050.00 - $132,525.00 / Year Employee Type Exempt - FT Position Summary Reporting to the SVP, Operations, the Senior Manager, Environmental Health, Safety & Facilities is responsible for leading CND Life Sciences' Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program while providing strategic oversight of facilities operations across the organization. This position serves as the Company's primary EHS subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, CLIA, CAP, RCRA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations in areas related to safety and waste management. The role develops, maintains, and continuously improves EHS and emergency response programs that protect employees, support laboratory operations, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on EHS, facilities, regulatory compliance, and workplace risk management. Approximately 75-80% of the role is dedicated to Environmental Health & Safety leadership and execution, with the remaining 20-25% focused on strategic facilities management through oversight of the Scottsdale Office Administrator and Boston Office Manager. The Senior Manager partners closely with Operations, Laboratory Operations, Quality, HR, IT, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces that support CND's continued growth. Job Responsibilities Lead, implement, execute, and continuously improve CND's Environmental Health & Safety program across all locations. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety, environmental, laboratory, and accreditation requirements Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, training programs, emergency response plans, and related documentation and recordkeeping. Serve as the Company's designated EHS subject matter expert and Chemical Hygiene Officer and/or Biosafety Officer, as assigned. Oversee and implement safety internal auditing processes including external audit readiness, risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement. Develop and monitor EHS metrics and provide regular reporting to Executive Leadership. Promote a proactive culture of safety through employee training, communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration. Partner with Laboratory Operations and Quality to support inspection readiness, operational excellence, and safe laboratory practices. Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve employee safety, operational effectiveness, and workplace experience. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide strategic oversight of facilities operations across all company locations. Directly supervise the Scottsdale Office Administrator and Boston Office Manager. Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for direct reports while fostering collaboration across departments. Oversee facilities maintenance, workplace operations, physical security, vendor management, space planning, and facilities capital improvement initiatives. Develop facilities budgets, manage key vendor relationships, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, workplace experience, and cost effectiveness. Partner with IT, HR, Finance, and Operations to support facility improvements, business continuity, and organizational growth. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible Environmental Health & Safety experience, preferably in biotechnology, healthcare, clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical, or other regulated life sciences environments. Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or people management experience. Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, IATA, RCRA, biosafety and biosecurity practices, , emergency response and applicable regulatory requirements with those related to laboratory safety and security preferred. Experience leading EHS and emergency response programs, regulatory inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, and employee training initiatives. Demonstrated knowledge of chemical and biological waste management and ability to manage vendors for hazardous waste removal, Experience managing facilities operations, vendor relationships, budgets, and multi-site operations preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with EHS, facilities, or quality management systems preferred. Education, Certifications & Licensures Required Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) OSHA 30 Certification HAZWOPER Certification Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) IATA Certification Other Position is based at the Company's Scottsdale, Arizona headquarters with an in-office requirement of five (5) days per week. Must also be available to respond to urgent facilities or safety matters outside normal business hours on an occasional basis. Occasional travel (approximately 10-15%) is required to support remote office locations. Combination of office, laboratory, and facilities work with occasional use of appropriate PPE. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and respond to occasional after-hours facilities or safety matters.
