About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Battle Creek, Michigan, 49017!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in oncology and chemotherapy preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: BLS required, chemotherapy certification preferred. Must-Have: - Oncology experience required. - Chemotherapy experience preferred. Description: The ideal candidate will work in an outpatient hematology oncology clinic. The shift is during the day, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, for five days a week. The clinic provides infusion services with 16 chairs and 6 bedrooms. Onsite chemotherapy and immunotherapy mixing pharmacy will be available. There is a team of medical oncologists supported by a nursing team, separate from the infusion area. Five nurses will staff the clinic, including a charge nurse. The clinic is connected to emergency services for patient needs. Support services available include social work, dietetics, a nurse navigator, a survivor nurse, and specialty pharmacy liaison. Nurses will utilize IV pumps and hoyer lifts for non-ambulatory patients. Chemotherapy infusion chairs are designed for patient comfort. Computer carts are utilized for efficient patient care. Patient age groups are primarily adults, with a daily census of approximately 35 patients. The role requires skills in patient assessments, medication management, and emergency response. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, phlebotomy, and pharmacy. Knowledge of patient education and medication reconciliation is essential.
