Job Details Specialty: Behavioral Health / Psych Nursing Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 Healthcare Setting: Locked Behavioral Health Unit Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Shift Duration: 8-hour days Hours Per Week: 40 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Call: None Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 - $2,230 Start Date: 09/01/2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Job Requirements Active Massachusetts RN license at the time of submission Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience BLS certification from the American Heart Association Handle with Care (HWC) certification, or willingness to complete onsite if needed Experience working with mental health patients in a locked setting Ability to safely pass medications using Omnicell BSN preferred Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to care Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adults ages 18 and over in a behavioral health environment Support patients with diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance use disorders, and chronic medical conditions Administer medications accurately and monitor patients for response and safety Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including psychiatry, rehab staff, social work, and internal medical support Use clinical judgment to respond to changing patient needs in a calm and professional manner Maintain a therapeutic, respectful, and trauma-informed approach at all times Contribute to a supportive unit culture focused on patient dignity, safety, and progress Holyoke offers a welcoming Western Massachusetts setting with easy access to the scenic Pioneer Valley, nearby outdoor recreation, and a variety of local dining and cultural experiences—making it a great place to live and work.
