Friends for Seniors

Elara Caring Hospice is looking for passionate teen volunteers in the Waterville area who want to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We are looking for volunteers to spend time with patients in our care at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. These visits focus on providing companionship and emotional support to our hospice patients in need; there is no physical care involved with these visits. Students can also visit with patients through participating in facility activities such bingo and arts and crafts.

Hours are very flexible including weekdays or weekends in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings; even a couple of hours a week or month spent visiting patients would mean the world to them! We are willing to accommodate any busy schedule.

Volunteers help alleviate stress and loneliness at the end of our patient’s life and are a vital part of our team, so don't wait - reach out today to learn more!
