Director of Marketing — Freja New York Location: New York or London Reports to: Founder & CEO About Freja Freja is a modern accessories brand creating thoughtful, beautiful, highly functional bags for women going somewhere. We’ve grown from an idea in 2019 into a profitable ~$20M brand, primarily through DTC, with a deeply engaged customer base and growing wholesale presence. As we enter our next stage, we’re looking for an exceptional Marketing Director to help build the growth engine that takes Freja from where we are today to $50M+. The Role You will own how Freja grows. We’re looking for someone who is equal parts commercial thinker and brand builder — someone who can look across acquisition, retention, product, customer, distribution and brand and understand where our biggest opportunities are. What You’ll Own Overall marketing and growth strategy Annual and quarterly revenue planning Customer acquisition and retention strategy Paid, CRM, organic, affiliate, creator and emerging channels Go-to-market strategy across product launches, campaigns and key commercial moments Marketing budgets, channel mix and resource allocation Identifying and building new growth and distribution opportunities Customer insights and understanding what drives first purchase, repeat and loyalty Marketing analytics, attribution and performance reporting Turning data into clear decisions, priorities and actions Partnering with Brand to make sure commercial goals and brand building strengthen each other Partnering with Product on launches, customer insights and assortment opportunities Managing external agencies and building the internal marketing team we need for the next stage Building the planning, reporting and postmortem systems that make us smarter every cycle Who You Are You’re deeply commercial and analytical, but you understand that a great consumer business isn’t built through performance marketing alone. You can zoom out, understand the whole business, identify the few things that actually matter and turn them into a plan. Ideally, you have: 8–12+ years in marketing, growth or commercial leadership at a consumer brand Experience helping scale a brand through a meaningful stage of growth Deep understanding of DTC acquisition, retention and customer economics Experience building integrated go-to-market strategies across channels Strong analytical judgment and the ability to separate signal from noise Experience identifying and building new growth or distribution channels Strong brand instincts and an understanding of the long-term value of brand Experience managing meaningful budgets, agencies and teams The ability to turn a revenue target into a clear set of growth levers and priorities The confidence to challenge existing assumptions — including ours — with evidence A builder mentality and excitement about creating what doesn’t exist yet Why Freja We’ve built a strong business with a very small team, and there is still an enormous amount of opportunity ahead of us. We know what got us to ~$20M. We’re much more interested in finding the person who can help us understand what gets us to $50M and beyond.
