Business Intelligence Engineer, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance

The AWS Security Assurance Engineering (SAE) team's mission is to build and enhance mechanisms which continuously demonstrate that AWS meets and exceeds the high security and compliance bar expected by our customers, regulators, and auditors. We achieve this by proactively engaging service and control owners to identify, monitor, and drive remediation of risks across AWS. Our team builds tools and services that scale these capabilities globally — creating efficiencies for our teams while maintaining transparency for our customers.As a Business Intelligence Engineer on the Data Engineering and Analytics team, you will build analytics solutions that directly impact decision-making across AWS Security. You'll own the development of essential metrics and measurement frameworks, design automated pipelines that handle data analysis at scale, and apply modern analytics techniques — including AI-assisted tooling and predictive capabilities — to surface insights that were previously out of reach. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of what data and intelligent automation can do for security, we want to hear from you.Key job responsibilities* Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into analytics solutions, and deliver actionable recommendations that inform decisions.* Design, develop, and deploy production-grade data products — datasets, pipelines, dashboards, and measurement frameworks — with mandatory code reviews, data quality checks, anomaly detection, and monitoring to ensure reliability and reusability at scale.* Apply AI-assisted techniques (e.g., intelligent anomaly detection, predictive analytics, natural-language interfaces) to deliver solutions that go beyond conventional BI approaches.* Proactively identify business improvement opportunities through exploratory analysis and present evidence-based recommendations to leadership.* Collaborate with SDEs, BIEs, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to transform large, complex datasets into structured, analytics-ready assets that drive business outcomes.* Simplify and modernize existing BI solutions to ensure they scale as business needs evolve.* Contribute to team-wide analytics best practices — sharing methodologies, reviewing peers' work, and raising the bar on tooling and standards.About the teamDiverse ExperiencesAmazon Security values diverse experiences. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
