We are looking for a Software Engineer, Data Platform to design, build, and scale the infrastructure that powers data across our organization.You will architect scalable platforms and develop tools and frameworks that enable data scientists, analytics engineers, and machine learning engineers, while building the foundation for analytics, experimentation, and ML-powered features. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building robust systems, solving complex technical challenges, and enabling teams through great platform design.What You'll DoDesign and build platform infrastructure that supports machine learning, analytics, and software engineers, as well as data scientists across the companyDevelop tools and frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, quality, and observabilityArchitect scalable, reliable systems using Snowflake, Clickhouse, AWS, dbt, and DagsterBuild governance, access control, and data quality systems that scale with the organizationEnable MLOps by creating infrastructure that supports model development and productionizationDrive technical decisions around platform architecture, tool selection, and data patternsCollaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to understand needs and deliver impactful solutionsWho You AreProven experience building platforms for engineers and data scientists in areas such as product analytics and experimentation, data discovery and catalog, data quality and observability, or governance and access controlExperience designing and operating large-scale distributed data systemsExpertise with analytics and lakehouse technologies including ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, or IcebergStrong cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or AzureExperience with data governance, reliability, and secure data operationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence across engineering and product teamsExperience with or interest in MLOps and supporting machine learning workflows in productionStrong problem-solving skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced, impact-driven environmentMotivated by access to rare and interesting AI data based on real human interactions with large language modelsExcited by the opportunity to own and shape Profound's data platform at an early stageInterested in working on meaningful problems at the intersection of AI and marketingComfortable in a fast-moving culture with autonomy, trust, and room to growDrawn to competitive compensation and meaningful equityLocationThis is an on-site role based in our NYC or SF office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact. We are happy to support visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.For this role, the expected base salary range is $140,000 to $260,000 (NYC and SF). Comp may vary by location. Profound's total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process.
