Registered Nurse

The position involves working on a medical surgical unit focused on orthopedic and neurological care. The unit has 21 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. Nurse aides or patient care technicians will be available to assist. Charge nurses are present 24/7 to oversee daily operations. Nurses will use EPIC for charting and documentation. Staff is expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Common diagnoses include total joint replacements, spine surgeries, and neurosurgical procedures. The facility has in-house pharmacy and respiratory therapy available 24/7. The position requires floating to other medical-surgical units if needed. Attendance is considered very important for this role. A basic understanding of IV medications and remote monitoring of patients is required. The position may involve caring for patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen.
