Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients within a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring high-quality treatment and patient safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive oncology services.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments following established protocols.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and post-care instructions.
• Document patient care actions accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with at least 2 years of oncology nursing experience.
• Ability to perform procedures such as pelvic exams and thoracentesis.
• Valid BLS certification; chemo certification preferred.
• Strong patient care skills and team-oriented attitude.
• Knowledge of Cerner EMR system is advantageous.
