Home Services Supervisor Supervises: Home Services Workers (Caregivers) Reports to: Agency Manager Summary The Home Services Supervisor trains, evaluates, and supervises Home Services Workers in accordance with 77 Ill. Adm. Code Part 245 (including Sections 245.40 and 245.71(g)), ensuring workers are competent to perform assigned non-medical services safely and in compliance with agency policy and applicable regulations. Responsibilities Supervise and manage a team of Home Services Workers, including hiring-to-performance oversight: provide initial training and competency evaluations (before first assignment and as required thereafter), and confirm workers can safely perform permitted non-medical tasks, including ADLs. Monitor performance, attendance, and punctuality through observation, feedback, and documentation review; identify and coordinate remedial training as needed. Ensure workers follow each client's Plan of Care and comply with agency policy, Illinois Department on Aging standards, and state/federal regulations. Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information per HIPAA. Investigate and document worker and client concerns; coordinate corrective action, coaching, and disciplinary documentation. Review missed visits, scheduling issues, documentation gaps, and complaints. Assist with emergency staffing and call-offs. Participate in quality assurance audits, staff meetings, and mandatory training. Maintain records of client satisfaction surveys, in-home visits, employee evaluations, and in-service training where applicable. Essential Duties Operate standard office equipment and agency software (Outlook, WellSky, FranConnect, or similar) to manage referrals, documentation, and communication accurately and efficiently. Must hold a valid driver's license, have a clean driving record and reliable transportation, and be able to travel to client and recruiting sites. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and move between stationary and active tasks for extended periods. Education & Experience Human services background or strong desire to help others; BA/BS a plus. Prior experience in home care, personal care, or homemaker services. Knowledge of EVV systems and caregiver documentation requirements. Must meet one of the following: Within the past 5 years, at least 2 years' experience in a home health, home services, home nursing agency, or facility-based healthcare setting, performing Part 245-permitted tasks (including ADL assistance). OR currently employed in a supervisory/trainer role at a home services agency, with training received in the past year on Part 245-permitted tasks. Training must cover topics in Section 245.40(c)(4)(A)–(P) and be provided by a qualified (licensed/certified) individual. Qualifications Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; excellent organizational, time-management, and written/verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. High emotional intelligence, empathy, and initiative; able to work independently, exercise judgment, and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Evening/weekend availability may be required.
