Commercial Loan Assistant

Description This position will be on-site at one of our Escanaba offices or Marquette. SUMMARY: Performs clerical and administrative duties for commercial lenders. Must have knowledge of internal lending policies and applicable procedures, as well as county, state and federal regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Acquire information related to commercial loan origination and prepare loan documentation. Create and maintain loan files. Provide courteous, knowledgeable and professional customer service in person, over the phone and when responding to written inquiries. Prepare loan disbursement entries. Perform administrative and clerical tasks as directed by loan officer(s) and assist other loan support and officers as needed. Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and attend all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position. Additionally required to complete all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA. Assume and accomplish other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Must exhibit high level of assistance, reliability and self-motivation. Possess the ability to work with a variety of personnel, customers and businesses. Excellent clerical skills along with numerical aptitude required. Excellent organization, follow-through skills necessary. Working knowledge of computers and software, including Word and Excel, is necessary. Use of general office equipment necessary. Must be or become Notary. Professionalism must be exhibited and confidentiality must be exhibited at all times. Requirements REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or other related field preferred or equivalent experience. Previous loan experience preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position may require individual to perform repetitive motion in operating equipment such as keyboard, calculator or other bank/office-related machinery. While performing duties the employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Position requirements may be, but are not limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, talking, hearing and communicating. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured required if driving. Position requires attendance at meetings. Some travel is expected for this position.
