Job Safety Specialist | Ashburn, VA

Job Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist in Ashburn, VA supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety.

1. Oversee all aspects of industrial construction projects ensuring OSHA compliance
2. Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training materials tailored to mechanical trades
3. Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to promote a safety-first culture
4. Conduct daily safety meetings
5. Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
6. Ensure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE)
7. Ensure proper and safe use of ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other elevated work platforms
8. Daily safety audits and inspections
9. Inspect power tools and heavy equipment

Job Qualifications

• Minimum 35 years of experience in HVAC/plumbing installation preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience required
• Must have experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
• OSHA 30 in Construction required
• First Aid/CPR certified
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards
• Excellent verbal and written skills
