Sr. Operations Manager

Overview The Senior Operations Manager oversees budget, people development, and operational objectives at the site. This role leads a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaches and mentors to ensure performance objectives are met, builds positive employee relations, and develops leadership strength within the Fulfillment Center (FC). The position requires a strategic leader who balances operational excellence with team development while driving results across the facility. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives, including Lean methodologies, to enhance operational efficiency and help the FC meet and exceed business objectives. Be responsible for the overall performance of either Inbound or Outbound operations, including safety, quality, and customer experience. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold managers accountable for their performance and department results. Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and translating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Takes proactive steps to share best practices across all departments, shifts, and the network. Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives, and provide needed support for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, both below the waist and above the head Walking around the FC with frequent movement; FCs are over a quarter mile in length Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily Ability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air-conditioned Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways) safely and without limitation Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends, and holidays 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination Preferred Qualifications Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status. #J-18808-Ljbffr PVH (Tommy Hilfiger/Calvin Klein)
