Proposal Writer

Location: Sacramento, CA (In-Office Required) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually (DOE) Type: Full-Time The Proposal Writer will support the development of project proposals, scopes of work, qualifications packages, and client-facing documents that help secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is an organized communicator who enjoys collaborating with multiple departments and working in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Draft, edit, and format scopes of work, project proposals, qualifications packages, and other business development materials Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and leadership teams to gather information and ensure content accuracy Assist in responding to RFPs, RFQs, and other client requests Maintain and update proposal templates, project profiles, resumes, and company qualifications Conduct research on clients, projects, and industry trends to support proposal development Review documents for grammar, consistency, formatting, and compliance with submission requirements Organize proposal content and maintain document libraries and marketing resources Support the preparation of presentations and other client-facing materials as needed Ensure all written materials reflect company branding, professionalism, and quality standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field required 1+ years of professional writing, editing, proposal coordination, marketing, communications, internship, or related experience preferred Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong editing, proofreading, and organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with proposal writing, construction, engineering, architecture, or professional services is a plus, but not required Self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and develop proposal management skills All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
