Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to a diverse patient population including ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical cases. This role requires flexibility to float across various units within the institution, managing patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios varying from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on acuity. The RN may also assume charge nurse responsibilities on smaller units, overseeing staffing, bed flow, and unit coordination. Experience working in the US healthcare system and charge nurse experience are required.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license valid in the United States.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in the US healthcare system.
- Charge nurse experience, particularly in small unit settings.
- Proficiency with electronic health records, preferably EPIC.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Experience in progressive care, telemetry, medical-surgical, or ER settings.
- Additional certifications related to critical care or specialty nursing.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and acuity levels.
- Must have US nursing experience; Canadian experience alone does not qualify.
- Charge nurse responsibilities limited to small units staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit acuity (1:4 to 1:6).
- Floating between multiple units is required to meet staffing needs.
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (07:00 to 19:30).
- Schedule and unit assignments may vary based on institutional needs.
- Check with management before accepting any 48-hour per week contracts.
