For more information, please visit Summary:Under the supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer and working as a member of the site/program team, develops and implements an effective behavioral intervention and safety plan for students. Performs other related duties as assigned.Duties & Responsibilities:School Culture ManagementManages crisis situations and defuses situations using conflict resolution and crisis management techniquesWorks one-on-one with students to affect behavior changesReinforces appropriate behaviors and redirects negative behaviorsProvides values clarification including rules, expectations and consequencesImplements consequences for inappropriate behavior with proper trainingProvides interventions to redirect behaviorImplements behavioral programs designed to make positive and appropriate changesAssists school staff by participating as a team member in the development and monitoring of comprehensive behavioral objectives, goals, and plansDevelops and implements behavioral interventions within a multi-tier system of supportsCommunication/ConsultationWorks as a team member with teachers and counselors and other appropriate personnel to establish positive student contacts that develop appropriate and positive behavior modifications enabling students to succeedProvides information to parents, guardians, or other care providers concerning actions of studentsEnsures consistency of behavioral standards by coordinating with appropriate student contactsMonitors physical and emotional changes in students and reports to appropriate personnelConsults with teachers, support staff, and administrators to obtain information and advice on prior behavior problems, and provides information as necessary concerning behavioral concernsProgram/Staff SupportMaintains a professional rapport with program/site staffMonitors student behavior changes, assisting with academics as directed by teacher, and supervising various activities during the course of the instructional day to maintain a controlled and safe environment for students and staffAttends IEP (Individualized Education Program) and student progress meetings as requestedMaintains awareness of fire drill and lockdown procedures and emergency contingency plan for the school siteImplements school’s emergency procedures as requestedAttends and provides trainings regarding safety, security, physical interventions and behavior management procedures as requestedOversees recreational activities, and other learning opportunities as requestedAttends program/site team meetings and various school events, including selected sporting eventsSkills & Knowledge:Leadership and soft skills:Excellent communication and relationship building skillsAbility to work effectively on a multi-treatment teamTechnical skills:Proficient in subject matter taughtKnowledge and experience with Microsoft programsEducation and Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferredPrevious experience in school settings preferredOther Duties:This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
