Corporate & Community Donations Manager

SUMMARY

Establishes, coordinates and administers a Corporate & Community Donations Program that will yield additional high-quality donations for Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, while leading efforts to drive sustainability through responsible donation acquisition, landfill diversion and community partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cultivates, maintains and manages a Corporate & Community Donation program through building relationships with other retailers, distributors and corporate partners in the community. Works closely with the Transportation Department to ensure corporate donation pickups are executed efficiently and effectively, and identifies and resolves issues around cost, logistics and labor. Leads community engagement and sustainability efforts that strengthen awareness of Goodwill’s mission, create new pathways for donation acquisition and support responsible reuse of goods. Develops and supports partnerships, events and outreach strategies that connect community relationships to measurable donation growth, increased donor participation, landfill diversion, sustainability efforts and stronger long‑term engagement. Tracks all Corporate & Community Donations and their estimated value. Explores, develops and manages contract service initiatives and partnerships that create business opportunities, generate revenue and advance the organization’s strategic objectives. Works closely with Marketing and Transportation to ensure donation drives are executed efficiently and effectively; tracks all donation drives, conducts site visits and follows up with donation drive contacts. Makes business‑to‑business contacts by telephone, email, mail and in group network settings to form partnerships which result in Corporate Donations; documents contacts with businesses and ensures continued follow‑up with all potential donors. Identifies industries and companies that would be good targets for potential corporate donations, including Electronics, Computers and other Ecommerce‑worthy items, using various research methods such as business groups and industry newsletters. Works with the Director of Transportation, Logistics and Sustainability to identify the most needed/sellable items that will generate revenue for the agency. Educates Goodwill team members about the donation process to ensure they provide business leads that can assist the donation flow.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university in Business Administration, Communications or related field and two years’ experience managing solicitation programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three to four years of experience in a business‑to‑business sales position focused on relationship building. Valid Driver’s License (Class C), car insurance, reliable automobile and a safe driving record (as determined by the Agency’s insurance carrier) are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
