Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Evenings Hours per Shift: 11 AM - 11 PM Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS NIHSS TNCC Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department experience Must be willing to float within designated zone Description: Candidates will float throughout the assigned zone as required. Floating within the full 60-mile zone applies regardless of housing location. Availability for the week of orientation is required, even if some modules are completed remotely. Essential experience includes working with common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Nurses are expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity levels. Experience with standard emergency medications and common drips is preferred. Emergency care environment varies in terms of trauma level and patient volume. Charting will be completed using an electronic system. Shifts are scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance with expectations of flexibility. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Nurses will perform Point of Care lab testing. Support staff will assist nurses with various duties, including triage. There are no designated monitor techs, so registered nurses must interpret telemetry strips. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, and nurses may troubleshoot equipment. Registered nurses may be assigned to various facilities within the zone. This position does not allow for a home base facility.
