Activities Supervisor - Full Time

Job Summary Position: Resident Activities Coordinator (Full‑time, Day Shift) Salary: $17.50 – $28.00 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Key Responsibilities Creates and implements resident activities and events. Manages activity staff schedules and coordinates volunteer staffing. Creates and views resident care plans around activities. Completes activity assessments and Minimum Data Set (MDS) questions as required. Reports problems, concerns and information to leadership in a timely manner. Communicates departmental activities and information to employees. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Improves residents’ quality of life through meaningful activities and interventions on a one‑on‑one or group basis. Administers the monthly activity calendar and elicits resident input into planning. Facilitates activities such as fishing, nature walks, pet therapy, music therapy, and other life‑enhancing experiences. Assists with simple nursing procedures and transports residents to and from rooms. Demonstrates leadership by developing and motivating activity staff. Works with residents who have strong wills or behavioral issues. Applies critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to prioritize tasks and work autonomously. Plans and oversees the utilization of resources and designs work processes. Qualifications and Certifications Associate degree preferred; minimum of one year of leadership/management experience preferred. Two years’ experience in an activity or social services role preferred. Knowledge of working with a diverse resident population. Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional by a recognized accrediting body (preferred). Completion of an accredited training program approved by the state (preferred). Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or enrollment in a healthcare‑related program (preferred). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Depending on location: role may require a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle report, and medical clearance to perform driving functions.
