Experienced Registered Nurse

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Work Shift: Third (Nights)

Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a temporary 14-week position in the ICU. The position is full-time, working from 7 PM to 7 AM. The pay rate is $70 per hour.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least two years of recent bedside RN experience in general ICU. If floated to IMCU, the candidate must be able to efficiently and safely handle a patient ratio of 1:4-6. Required experience includes the use of vasopressors and sedation medications, as well as insulin drips. Experience with TNK, strokes, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, CRRT, general surgeries, DKA, SI, ETOH, and STEMIs is also necessary. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; BLS.

Education:

RN Degree: RN Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN

Certifications and or Licensure:

RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
